You're touring the country out of cell phone range in your 1980 Volvo 245 wagon and your 34 year old fuel pump craps out. What are you gonna do? Head in to the woods and stay warm with this amazing single log fire that works in rain and wind and is a cook surface!

It seems to be called two different things. Swedish or Finnish fire torch. I go with Swedish but the Finns have to learn how to drift a car for their drivers test so.....ill give them some credit. some...

The current Finnish version is called "jätkänkynttilä" (roughly meaning lad's candle). They are usually made with a chainsaw and they should remain in one piece. Here's bunch of them.

yeah I've seen two kinds-one split into 4ths and the other you show. Also there's another with a hole in the side of a rotted out log...an empty center. Called a rocket. Those are cool too. All that's needed is a saw or hatchet and a flint now.
